Ash plantain curry

 

Sri Lankan Style

Ingredients

  •     4 ash or was green plantain
  •      ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  •     Some curry leaf
  •     2 inch panda lead
  •    1 medium size onion
  •    4 garlic pods
  •    Mustard seed (optional)
  •    2  tsp cumin
  •    2-piece cinnamon
  •    Maldivian dried fish
  •    2 cup thick coconut milk
  •    4 green chili
  •   1 tea spoon salt

 

Instructions

·         To a bowl of water add pinch of salt and turmeric

·         Peel the plantain skin

·         Remove and cut the plantain to pieces add it into bowl

·         Cut the dried fish

C    Cut the onion, garlic, chilies

Preparation

Add the plantain, onion slices,garlic slices, turmeric powder, cinnamon, panda leaf, green chili, dried fish, mustard to a pan.

Add water into cooking pot and cook for 20 to 25 minutes in hight flame.

Cook for another 5 minutes , add the thick coconut milk and salt.

Serve with rice and a green salad.
