Bitter Gourd Fry
To remove the bitter taste
TIPS; It is advise to soak it in tumeric water for 20 to 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 500 grams bitter gourd
- 2 tsp Tumeric
- 2 tsp salt
- 3 cups of water
Preparation
Cut the 2 side of the bitter gourd add remove tge seeds inside and cut into thin slices.
Into a bowl add 2 spoon salt, 2 spoon tumeric and 3 cups of water. Add the slices of bitter guard and keep for 20 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 cup oil
- 100 grams dry fish slices
- 1 onion
- 4 gatlic
- 10 curry leaves
- 3 dry chillie
- 1 table spoon spice (garam masala or any masala available)
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp pepper powder
- 1 tsp sugar (sweetner can be used) optional
- 2 tsp oil
Preparation
Remove the bitter gourd from water, and place in a plate. In a pot add the oil and deep fry the bitter gourd. Remove from oil when the colour starts brown, add to a sieve or paper to remove the oil.
Cut the onion into slices. In a seperate pot add 2 spoon of oil, add the the onion, garlic, chilli, curry leaves, salute for 3 minutes. Add the chilli powder, garam masala, pepper powder, dry fish slices, salt and sugar, again salute for 2 minutes. Add the fried bitter guard , mix well.
Its a healthy side dish can eat with rice or roti.
