 Dhaal Masala

 

 

 Serves 6

Ingredients

  • 400 grams yellow dhal
  • 2 large onion
  • 3 spoon garlic paste ginger paste
  • 1 chili (giteyo mirus)
  • 1 tomato
  • Maldivian dried fish (valomas)
  • 2 spoon mustard seed
  • 1 spoon turmeric powder
  • 2 spoon salt
  • 1 tin small tomato paste
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • Oil
  • Curry leaves & ramp leaves


PREPARATION

Keep the dhaal in water to 3 hrs and wash it.

Cook it until soft, take the white foam.

Add 1 spoon of tumeric keep it aside.

Slice the valhonas n fry in a pan, take the fried

fish keep aside.

Add the mustard seeds into the oil, when it starts to make sound.

Add the sliced onion into the oil, add a spoon of salt as it will 

make faster process to fry, when the onion get light brown colour

Add the ginger and garlic paste. 

Add curry leaves, chili, fry little.

Add the fried valho mas into it. 

Add the cooked dhal. Cook for 5 mins.

Add 1 spoon chili powder and add the tomato

paste, mix it. Cook for 2 to 3 mins

Add the coconut milk, cook for 2 or 3 minutes.

Serve it with roshi or rice.
